Sunny Sunday

(Sadu Valley - photo from my personal archive)

Hello, people!

What's happening in our part of the world? For the past two weeks, a heatwave, which I enjoyed VERY much, hit my area. YAY! Hubby says I'm descending from a reptilian species because my feet, hands, and nose are most of the time cold. What can I say? I'm not holding in my body heat very well. Since the weekend was scorching, I packed some bags and went sunbathing nearby. Around the area I live, there are tons of places for camping. We chose a spot, settled in on a blanket, and took out our family games! To my surprise, neither of my kids made a fuss about losing at games! I expected at least one of them to throw a fit, but no.

Even Blue was super behaved, given that there were other people around and she's always excited to make new friends. I was pleasantly surprised! Not that they never behave, but... Tantrums have happened before 😁.
"Hello! I'm Blue..."

"... and I like to travel."

There was a mountain river not twenty feet from us and the kids (and the dog) loved to play in it, especially because the water was cold. Of course, we had to endure the bugs, but this is Nature. I was in for a much-needed dose of relaxation and... insolation 😋 (because of the heat in the air, not because I didn't wear a hat).

Fresh air, heat, sun, cold water, a delicious barbeque, fun and laughter, a day spent with my family... what else could I have asked for?

The tiny fluff-balls are in the house!!

Tiny and her babies

Hello lovely people!

I'd like to present to you my little fluffies 😻. Momma Tiny has brought home her babies!!! This is her first litter.

Tiny came into our year last October and she was about 2-3 months old. At that time, we had our older cat, Tissi. Since I am a cat person at heart, I let her stick around, feed her, and let her get accustomed to being a semi-house cat (half outside - half inside).

RIP Tissi

Last December Tissi died... She was ten years old, but I think someone poisoned her since she suddenly couldn't keep any food down. I took her to the vet, but her system already started shutting down and there was nothing he could do. I was heartbroken 😢. She has a resting place in our garden under a tree.

So, we now have Tiny, which was named this way because she was (and still is) a small cat. The vet advised us to let her have one litter of kittens before we fix her. She had five kittens, but one didn't make it 😔. The little trouble-makers she brought home (she had them in a shed) are two girls and two boys. One girl is tiny in comparison with her siblings (runt of the litter) but she's feisty. They're still nursing but are eating wet food as well and I'm teaching them to use the litter box. My kids are over the moon! They love playing with the kittens. And Blue, my dog, has become a surrogate mother 😂. She watches the kittens like she's afraid they'll disappear. Whenever the kittens are wrestling, she intervenes to break them apart... like she's saying no fighting. And she's washing them constantly! I'm like "Oh my god! Let them breathe!" I cannot imagine how she'll be when she's going to have her first litter of pups 😬. Until they are ready to go to new homes, I'll enjoy the happiness they bring and leave you with a small glimpse of the evening's entertainment...

Astra Museum - Romania, Sibiu City - picture from my personal archive (July 2021)

(Hey everyone! This is my first blog as a wandering writer. I hope you'll enjoy the travels!)

Summer is finally here! And so is the end of the school year. Thank God!! The Pandemic put a hell of a bump in our lives, but I am slowly getting back to my normal life and routine. The last couple of months have been filled with stress for me (and I am sure for a lot of you, as well). I am an introvert at heart and sticking around the house for a year and a half hasn't affected me that much (online schooling three kids have!), but I still felt the need to go out; explore.

However, I had to pass another hurdle... the weather! In my part of the world, Eastern Europe, it has been raining for the last month, every single day. And I'm not speaking of soft, quick showers. I mean pouring rain that flooded my garden! I jokingly told my kids that this year I won't buy them an inflating pool, but a boat LOL 😄.

Anyway, we finally have warm weather. So, this weekend I dragged the kids and the husband outside to wander around. We visited a small Culinary Turkish Bazar from where I got shells steamed in wine and Baclava - a very sweet Turkish delight with nuts and honey.

They were amazing! I am a sucker for sweets, so I enjoyed them. The kids? Eh, not so much. The truth is the Baclava is VERY sweet and you have to have something to drink to dilute the honey in your mouth. Still, I enjoyed the sweet more than the kids :). And the shells? I'm just going to say that I ate them all by myself. Okay, I left some for hubby to taste...

After visiting the Turkish Culinary Bazar, we went to the zoo. We haven't been there in two years, so it was exceptional to see all the renovations the administration made and the super cool decorations.

The day was hot and there were many people visiting, but we had a great time, anyway. It took us about an hour to wander around and let me tell you; my feet protested! I have a desk job, so I don't do a lot of walking around at work. And after a year and a half of staying home... After visiting the zoo we went to the outdoors Astra Museum.

It's a Traditional Museum expanding on a large piece of land. The main thing I wanted to visit was the Handmade Fair taking place there. But walking through the museum, we've encountered a very cool Dacian role-play set. Needless to say; my kids were ecstatic! They had so much fun role-playing.

And the Dacians had so much patience to dress up the kids, show them the instruments, and how to use them. It was outstanding!

The last stop was at the Handmade Fair. We ate a Hungarian traditional sweet bread and had our first ice cream of the year. I know almost everything we ate had sugar, but we diluted it with water, only :). After our quick lunch, the kids stopped at the Arts and Crafts tent. Let me tell you how two hours went for me. I sat on a bench watching my kids have fun painting and doing all sorts of other handmade items (I helped here and there). Hubby took off with the little one and when he came back, he wanted to leave. True, it was six PM by that time, but still... I wanted to buy myself some earrings but the hoard almost dragged me out of the Museum😒.

Well, they were tired; I was tired..., and I can get my earrings another time. The day was a success for me. The weather was glorious; we had fun and enjoyed the much-needed outing. I got myself a shoulder tan for the trouble and feet pain since I wanted to look nice and wore a pair of shoes I just bought. Well, that's about it for now. Stay tuned for the next adventure!

Preorder now!

Because of unexpected health issues, I was not able to finish the manuscript for Wolven Age in time to send it for editing and proofreading and have the book ready for the release date I initially set. So, while the manuscript it's now officially done, it still needs editing. Because I have to prepare for Christmas and the New Year, I will have to edit by February. The book will be on pre-order until the new release day, February 14th, 2020.
